Escape From Tarkov Unveils 2018 Roadmap, Prepares For Open Beta

escape from tarkov 2018 roadmapIf you’re an avid part of the Escape From Tarkov community, you’ve probably been expecting Battlestate Games to release their annual video report for quite some time now. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. The team explains in a recent dev blog:

“We know that you have been expecting the 2017 annual report from us, since we promised it. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), since the beginning of the year and to this moment, we are exclusively focused on development. Creating an annual video requires the diversion of a large number of developers from their current tasks; therefore, the report was suspended. In the annual report, we usually also talk about our plans for the next year. Therefore, we have decided to present these plans at least in the form of a text so that you could gain an understanding of what shall come to Escape from Tarkov in 2018.”

First up on the list is preparing for Open Beta which includes polishing the game and fixing bugs and errors. The 2018 roadmap also outlines plans to make the game harder and more realistic. These include magazine loading; animations when using consumables such as food and medical supplies; off-raid treatment and recovery; jamming, misfires, and misalignment; ammo quality; smoke grenades; under-barrel grenades; a new game mode; and a whole lot more.

You’ll find the full roadmap on the Escape From Tarkov official site.
