EVE Online's Executive Producer CCP Seagull published a development update asking players to remember patience ahead of tomorrow's huge Ascension Update; the update that will allow a deluge of free-to-players to roam the stars and inevitably find themselves dead or lost. With any update, there are unexpected hurdles but I'm sure things will be smoothed quickly.

Many EVE Online veterans have been preparing for the influx of players: making video guides, polishing their missiles, etc. I highly suggest you view some YouTube some introductory videos if you plan on playing for the first time tomorrow. EVE Online is a hands-off experience and it can be overwhelming if you're using to grinding on rails. But it's also one of the most rewarding experiences. Go in with a bit of knowledge.

The official EVE Online companion app has also launched, EVE Online Portal [Android/iOS]. It's a pretty exciting time for EVE Online. Best of luck to CCP tomorrow.

Maybe the free-to-play update will get me to resubscribe and activate my decade-old character—so I can lose another battleship.
