EVE Online is closing out its 19th anniversary celebration with a bang, or more accurately, multiple bangs, explosions, and a whole lot of ship debris. CCP Games will be kicking off the Capsuleer Day Proving Grounds event on May 20th featuring free-for-all Abyssal Proving Grounds battles to cap off the festivities.

To ensure that everyone can join in on the fight, Sunesis has been made the ship of choice for the free-for-all Proving Grounds. It’s a ship that CCP has been giving away via the anniversary login campaign, and a ship that virtually anyone can fly. The battle will also feature a special set of rules which include a 19% increase to turret and missile damage, ship velocity, sensor strength, and ship signature radius as well as a few surprises.

“To liven up the party further, the arena itself will also add some explosive new features. Expect a number of Nexus objects scattered throughout the combat area. Approach them and you’ll gain a 19% buff - or debuff - to your weapons and mobility.”

The FFA Abyssal Proving Grounds event will run until May 23rd. Details can be found on the EVE Online official site.
