Eve Online Launches Quadrant 3: Gateway Update Revamping New Player Experience

Eve Online, one of the oldest sci-fi MMORPGs, launched the Quadrant 3: Gateway update today which revamps the new player experience and skill training systems. Alongside this release, the game's developer, CCP Games, announced that Eve Online would be launching on the Epic Games Store on September 23 to further broaden the game's playerbase.

While this update is focused on revamping the new player experience it also includes new content for all players and balance updates (such as big changes to resource distribution).

“It is the best time in EVE’s 18-year history for pilots to fly into New Eden,” said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director. “The heart of EVE Online has always been its players. For Quadrant 3 we are opening up the Gateway for new Capsuleers into EVE Online, starting with the new player experience. I’m excited to see how these new pilots will shape the game for years to come!”

Eve Online originally launched back in 2003, making it one of the longest running modern MMORPGs. Despite its age, its still incredibly popular averaging 21,000 concurrent players online at any given time on its single global server (The only exception here is that China has its own server which averages 6,100 players online).
