EverQuest 2 To Launch First Event Server And Free Trade Server

Daybreak Game Company announced yesterday that EverQuest 2 will be getting two new servers in the next month: Isle of Refuge and the Race to Trakanon Event Server. The Isle of Refuge is a new "Free Trade Server" that will allow almost all items in-game to be traded between players. It is set to launch on June 28th and, when it launches, no one will be able to transfer characters to or from the server.

The Race to Trakanon Event Server launches on July 12th and is the first of a new type of limited time server called an "Event Server." An Event Server is a server that allows players a chance to earn rewards for another character on another server by playing on it. The Race to Trakanon event is set during the Rise of Kunark expansion and will reward players who are the first to kill Trakanon or complete several other tasks. To make the challenge more interesting, experience rates have been reduced and encounter difficulty has been increased.

Daybreak expects that the Race to Trakanon Event Server will run "for a minimum of three months." Even if someone completes the challenge before then, the server will be left open for some time after to allow others a chance to complete it. When there are but 30 days left, each player will be given a transfer token to transfer their Race to Trakanon character to another server.

Both servers will require an All Access Membership to play on them.
