EverQuest And EverQuest 2 Are Both Getting Expansions By The End Of The Year
Darkpaw Games has big things in store for both EverQuest and EverQuest 2 before the year comes to a close with new expansions for both titles in the MMORPG franchise.
First up on the list is the official reveal of EverQuest’s fall expansion, dubbed Night of Shadows. “You’ll have to jump onto Beta or wait for our official announcements to learn more,” teased Darkpaw head honcho Jenn Chan. Beta testing for the new expansion is scheduled to start on October 11th and will be available for pre-order starting on the same day.
Speaking of pre-orders, EverQuest 2’s Renewal of Ro expansion is now available for purchase ahead of its release in December. The expansion micro-site is also live with new visuals and lore pieces to get you up to speed on what’s going down in the expansion.
“While on a valiant quest to help the Aerakyn return to their original thread of reality, adventurers find themselves going back to the brutal island of Ro and to the southern half of the flaming desert,” wrote Standing Stone. “Here, with the help of a local tribe of Hizite nomads, they’ll make their way across the unforgiving Raj’Dur Plateaus to explore what is left of the Elddar Empire’s cursed city, the long Buried Takish’Hiz, before finding themselves within the renewed Takish Badlands as they are led into the treacherous Sandstone Delta by the machinations of a notorious foe.”
“They will come face-to-face with Raj’Dur bandits, cursed Elddar, Dunetooth goblins, the Mhyt-moo school of Yha-lei, the Stormfury and Swordfury cyclops clans, the Ortallians zealots of Ro, and other enemies, not to mention the glorious heroes they will team up with along the way,” the studio teased.
Renewal of Ro will feature four new zones, new dungeons and raids, new tradeskill quests, a new adventure, new gear sets, new collections and achievements, and a new housing kit. The expansion will set you back $34.99 for the standard pack, all the way up to $249.99 for the Mega Family and Friends bundle which includes various cosmetics, pets, boosts, adventures and more.
