EverQuest And EverQuest 2 Unveil Their Respective Roadmaps For The Year Of Darkpaw
Darkpaw Games outlines all of the shiny new things coming to both EverQuest and EverQuest 2 this year as part of their year-long anniversary celebrations, dubbed The Year of Darkpaw.
As previously revealed, 2024 marks EverQuest’s 25th year in operation while EverQuest 2 is celebrating its 20th, and its respective dev teams have an extensive list of giveaways, monthly events, and special content planned throughout the year alongside the usual lineup of content drops and event reruns. Both games will also be launching expansions towards the latter part of the year.
Some noteworthy entries include new anniversary content for EverQuest in March, a potential server merge in July, beta testing for the classic MMORPG’s 31st expansion in October, and the launch of the said expansion in December.
Over on EverQuest 2, the game’s 2024 roadmap places Update 125 in April, a new Time-Locked Expansion server in late spring, Update 126 in August, beta testing for its 21st expansion in October, and the expansion’s official launch in November. The game will also be celebrating its 20th birthday that month.
Meanwhile, the original game has opened up its so-called Anniversary Tower in the North Desert of Ro. The new instance features 11 monster-infested floors to conquer and a challenging boss battle waiting at the end.
“Getting in the locked doors within the tower is rather tricky and can only be done once a key for the door is obtained through the completion of its Tower Trial,” says Darkpaw. “These Trials will send you places across Norrath, so be sure you have on your traveling boots. When a door is unlocked, the real challenge begins as you will go up against powerful beings. Upon the successful defeat of the monster behind the door, you will earn timeless tokens which Miacallie will accept as payment for her wares.”
The anniversary tower will remain open until December, which gives you almost an entire year to complete the entire challenge and reap its rewards.
