Final Fantasy 14 Free to Play Forever Up Until Level 35

Final Fantasy XIV officially did away with its 14-day free trial and instead went with an unlimited free trial up to level 35. Players can try out as many jobs as they want, explore dungeons, and even race Chocobos at the Gold Saucer for free. With the only restrictions being the level 35 level cap, inability to trade, send letters, or join free companies, there's a A LOT of content to enjoy in Final Fantasy XIV entirely for free. All old accounts have been reactivated as well to take advantage of the new unlimited free trial.

Given the in-depth crafting skills, multi classing systems, and countless quest chains 14 days was certainly not enough to get a feel for the game. I suspect this maneuver will lead to more people choosing to subscribe to the game in the long run. If you've never played Final Fantasy 14 before, definitely give it a try. It's one of my personal favorites!

On a related Final Fantasy XIV note, Patch 3.56 also officially launched today. It's the last patch before the Stormblood expansion launches on June 20, 2017. Patch 3.56 adds new main scenario quests, new orchestration rolls, changes to Alexander (Savage), various balance changes, and more. The full changelog is available here.
