Final Fantasy XIV Announces Cross-Promotion With Amazon

Final Fantasy XIV is at it again: the MMORPG has partnered with Amazon.com for a cross-promotional event. Buyers who make purchases through Amazon's video game section that total $19.99 or more will also receive a promotional code, which is exchanged for "three Eastern-themed in-game items." Not every item qualifies. Ones that do will have a note on the item's store page.

"Well, what do I get?" Good question. Code redeemers will earn a Eastern Journey Battle Staff, 50 Aetheryte Tickets, Eastern Journey Attire, and a Flying Nimbus Mount that I really wish was gold. The promotion is a way to hype up Final Fantasy XIV's playerbase for the upcoming expansion Stormblood, slated to release on June 20, 2017.

The campaign starts today April 25th, and lasts until Monday, May 08, 2017. If you do get a code you'll have to log-in to the Mog Station to redeem it.

The event is one in a list of several announcements that's recently come out of Final Fantasy XIV. The game recently went free-to-play up to level 35, currently has a 96 hour free login campaign for veteran players until May 7th, and a live action drama is headed to Netflix. No joke.
