Final Fantasy XIV Is Wrapping Up Its Hydaelyn Story Arc As Patch 6.55 Goes Live

Final Fantasy XIV is now in the final stretch of its A Realm Reborn story arc as Patch 6.55: Growing Light – Part 2 officially goes live. As previously revealed, the update features the final main story quests of the 11-year Hydaelyn-Zodiark storyline and sets the stage for the beginning of a new narrative in this summer’s Dawntrail expansion.

“With Zeromus defeated and the threat of a voidsent incursion now passed, the Warrior of Light returns to the Source, their adventure at last come to an end. But rarely is there rest for the righteous, for an unexpected visitor has come knocking at the Baldesion Annex, eager for an audience with Eorzea's greatest hero.”

Patch 6.55 also introduced the final installment of the Hildibrand, Tataru Grand Endeavor, and Tribal Alliance quests, as well as the last upgrade tier for Manderville Weapons. It also marks the start of a new competitive season with various adjustments made to the Fields of Glory, PvP skills, and damage outputs for several jobs.
