Upcoming Fortnite Update Will Include A New Battle Royale Game Mode

fortnite battle royaleLooks like Fortnite has jumped into the Battle Royale bandwagon alongside PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and H1Z1: King of the Kill. According to today’s dev blog, the new Battle Royale game mode is set to go live with the v1.6 update. And, from the look of things, it’s going to be epic.

“Fortnite Battle Royale is the new 100-player, Last man Standing PvP experience you know so well, but combined with the limitless world of Fortnite. Everyone starts on the Battle-Bus with a glider and a pickaxe. But from there, how you win, it’s up to you! There’s tons of weapons, traps to take out unsuspecting opponents, and a huge map to build whatever you can imagine.”

Battle Royale will be the first time PvP is implemented in the game. “Yeah, we made a PvP mode for Fortnite,” says the team. “We love Battle Royale games like PUBG and thought Fortnite would make a great foundation for our own version.” Don’t worry though, the new PvP mode will be entirely separate from PvE. Battle Royale is now out on the Public Test servers and will roll out with Patch 1.6 for PS4, Xbox One, Mac, and PC on September 26.
