Fortnite: Over One Million Players Fight It Out In Battle Royale Debut
It’s official, Battle Royale is the biggest thing in gaming today. If PUBG’s record-breaking rise to fame isn’t enough proof, then maybe the 1 million players that Fortnite racked up during its free Battle Royale mode debut will do it for you. Epic Games announced the news on Twitter yesterday.

One reason why the game’s Battle Royale launch was so successful is probably because it’s free. With H1Z1: King of the Kill sporting a $20 price tag, and PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds going for $30, it isn’t hard to see why players would flock to Fortnite. Another reason might be PUBG’s recent accusations that Epic Games “replicated” their game. As they say, “Any publicity is good publicity.”
