Fortnite Kicks Off A Brand New Chapter And Season With A New Island To Fight In
Fortnite has ushered in a brand-new chapter and season featuring a host of new content and gameplay mechanics to keep things fresh in the popular battle royale shooter. The highlight of Chapter 4 Season 1 is a new island battleground featuring new points of interest to fight over and new gameplay elements, vehicles, and weapons for players to use against one another.
“In the fourth Chapter of Fortnite’s Battle Royale, go forth in a new realm and get around in new ways — ride a dirt bike, roll in a snowball, launch yourself with the Shockwave Hammer, and hurdle over obstacles. Power yourself up with Reality Augments and claim territory for your squad, leaving behind Banners to declare what’s yours. And of course, venture with newly-forged weapons.”
Another key feature of the update is the addition of Reality Augments that grant players a choice of two random passive skills at set intervals during the match. The longer you stay alive, the more Reality Augments you’ll be able to unlock.
As for the new weapons, players can now arm themselves with a sword-slash-rifle aptly-called Ex-Caliber, the new Thunder Pump-Action Shotgun, the fast-firing Maven Auto Shotgun, the Red-Eye Assault Rifle with its customizable red dot sight, the new Twin Mag SMG for extra fast reloading, the new Tactical Pistol, and the heavy-hitting Shockwave Armor that can send your enemies or even yourself flying with one hit.
