Epic Games Confirms Xbox One Cross-Play Support For Fortnite Mobile

fortnite mobile handheldLast week, Epic Games announced that they will be porting Fortnite to iOS and Android devices and that the game will feature cross-platform support between PC, PlayStation 4, Mac, iOS, and Android.

“In partnership with our friends at Sony, Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together.”

Xbox One users were quick to point out that the Xbox One wasn’t on the list. Epic Games and Microsoft made it clear over the weekend that the Xbox One version of Fortnite will feature cross platform play between the PC, Mac, and mobile devices. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 cross-play, however, is a no-go.

“We have been working closely with the team at Epic Games for some time to bring this functionality to all current and future versions of Fortnite and expect it to be available on Xbox along with other platforms,” a Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge. “Microsoft has long been a leading voice in encouraging the adoption of cross-platform play and the potential of connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles.”

Epic Games PR Manager also confirms Xbox One support on Twitter.
