Fractured Online Suffers Another Rollback After New Server Hardware Fails

When it rains, it pours, as is the case in Fractured Online as the early access sandbox MMORPG suffers another rollback, albeit a significantly shorter one, in light of more technical problems. Developer Dynamight Studios reports that the newly installed server became unreachable and rebooted twice due to a faulty motherboard and cables, resulting in a 15-20 minute rollback.
“The streak of bad luck this week just doesn’t want to end,” says Dynamight Studios founder and CEO Jacopo Galleli. “I’ve just put Terra back online and reopened logins. As expected, there are a few minutes of rollback to the previous save.”
In the meantime, the team has decided to keep the old server with its repaired hard drive as a backup, just in case the new one craps out again. They’ve also increased the frequency of world saves from every hour to every 30 minutes to allow for shorter rollbacks should a problem occur again.
“Apologies for all the downtime these last 3 days. Sadly this was entirely out of our control,” Galleli concludes.
