It’s that time of the year where video game studios do their annual retrospection as we prepare to usher in a brand new and hopefully COVID-free year. Indie developer Paddle Creek Games looks back at all the updates, new features, and work that went into Fractured Veil in the past year.

The highlight of the year is September’s Kickstarter campaign where the studio managed to raise over $110,000 to fund the game’s development. On top of that, Paddle Creek also released a slew of updates that introduced new features to the upcoming survival sandbox game, including fleshing out several areas and adding more foliage to bring their mutant-infested version of Hawaii to life. The devs also added vendors, crafting benches, new mutant types, and coconut weapons. The construction system has also been improved along with updates to dungeon designs and offline player protection.

Fractured Veil is currently in Alpha testing since last month with backers getting the first invites to take the game for a spin. Three more invite waves are planned for 2022. No release date window has been announced as of yet.

In the meantime, you can check out the 2021 development round-up on Steam. The team has also released their own version of the Clement Clarke Moore’s classic holiday poem. You can check that out below.
