Gameloft Acquires New York-Based SongPop Publisher FreshPlanet
French mobile gaming giant Gameloft further secures their foothold on the casual gaming market with the acquisition of New York-based developer FreshPlanet, the makers of the widely-popular music trivia game SongPop and SongPop 2. “We are excited to welcome FreshPlanet as a part of the Gameloft family and to support them in their journey towards new, even more ambitious projects,” says Gameloft Charimand and CEO Stéphane Roussel.

Under the acquisition agreement, FreshPlanet CEO Mathieu Nouzareth will continue to head the studio which will remain in New York operating as a Gameloft studio. “We are proud to join forces with Gameloft, the global leader in mobile gaming with many hit titles,” Nouzareth adds. “Our experience in developing highly captivating and monetizing trivia games, and Gameloft’s global footprint, expertise and massive audience are the perfect match to lead the mobile pop culture trivia category.”
