Gigantic's Eternal Dawn Update Adds A New Competitive Layer
With the release of today's Eternal Dawn update, at long last, Gigantic players can take part in a new competitive metagame. In lieu of an actual ranked mode, the game now has a Competitive Leaderboard that can be viewed here at any time. The leaderboard allows you to view "a detailed breakdown" of your own Gigantic rank, as well as other players'.
A new Hero name Zandora has gone live with the updated, bringing a "melee/support hybrid" gameplay style into the mix. She is the second Hero to go live since the launch of Open Beta.
Zandora's skills are as follows.
- Star Lance Strike: Melee attack combo. Hitting extends active AURA.
- Aura of Strength: Damage all enemies in melee range. AURA (3s): You and nearby allies deal +10% basic attack damage.
- Aura of Haste: +8 Stamina. AURA (3s): You and nearby allies move 10% faster.
- Aura of Life: Cleanse debuffs from nearby allies. AURA (3s): You and nearby allies regenerate 25 health/s.
- Focus Skill: Vow of Shielding: Give a 600/800/1000 HP shield to you and nearby allies for 4/5/6s. Hitting with your basic attack restores 75 HP to the shield.
Also included in the update are the Storm Drake creature, which utilizes "chain lightning attacks that bounce from foe to foe," 18 new "Eternal Light" weapon skins that seem rather flashy, and Zandora's "Champion of Aurion Skin." New Champion of Aurion Skins are set to be introduced in the coming weeks.
