Global Survival Game Eco Announces PvP Stretch Goal

Ecosystem Survival Simulation MMO, Eco, is nearing their 150,000 USD milestone for land ownership, taxation and building rights. In light of this, they've updated their 200,000 USD milestone to include a PvP Criminal Justice System.

It's an interesting system that brings consequences to a genre riddled with "no-consequences"— players will create laws, and rather than automatically disallowing players from breaking them, the system will allow for witnesses to hunt the players down and subdue them. For example... if hunting elk became outlawed, and a player were to hunt an elk within visual range of another player, that player would become a witness to the crime. Witnesses can further report the fact they saw a crime to other players which also flags them as witnesses. Any player with a witness flag will be able to hunt the player and turn them in.

Being turned in can mean anything from a monetary fine to actual in-game jail time... and for the worst infractions— the controversial 'Death Penalty' which is a permanent exile from the server and deletion of character.

Players can also put points into forensics skills in order to examine crime scenes and track down the offender— regardless of if they are online or asleep in their home.

You can check out the exciting details for this system here.  At the time of this post, there are still 6 days left to back them!
