Heavy Metal Machines shifts into Open Beta today on Steam, a game featuring death-delivering vehicles in a world gone mad after the apocalypse. It's a fusion of Mad Max and Twisted Metal.

The apocalypse is over, only Heavy Metal Machines remain. Welcome to a world of madness, mayhem and relentless destruction where you will put survival of the fittest to the test, decimating your enemies just to survive.

As you race around a track you incinerate one another in 4v4 matches as one team tries to deliver a bomb to their opponent's base. Players pick characters and cars that fulfill one of three roles: interceptor, support, or transporter. It's got a MOBA-esque element.

Destruction and a heavy metal soundtrack combine in a celebration of the post-apocalyptic world, one where cars are used to blow each other up, while pulling off "death-defying stunts."
