Halo Infinite Co-op Beta Testing Delayed To Later This Week… Hopefully

Halo Infinite players eagerly awaiting the chance to take on the campaign together with their friends will have to wait a while longer as 343 Industries pushes back today’s co-op beta due to last minute issues. Community Director Brian Jarrard announced the delay on Twitter, saying that they’re still hoping to get the beta test up and running later this week.

“Apologies to folks who expected the flight today - we’re eager to get this into your hands but we also want to ensure it’s a positive and worthwhile flight experience,” tweeted Jarrard. “Still targeting this week but it’s day by day as work continues. Ty for your patience and understanding.” The term “flight” in this context is 343’s in-house term for a beta test.

Technically, the beta test isn’t delayed since the initial schedule was for the week of July 11th. The team also previously warned about possible delays when they first announced the start of co-op beta testing earlier this month. That being said, it’s still disappointing news for players who were already disappointed when 343 announced that the feature will be released a few months after multiplayer functionality went live in December 2021. It’s now over seven months and co-op has yet to be implemented.

Hopefully, this doesn’t start another flame war between the developers and the community.
