Following a failed Kickstarter earlier this year, John Smedley's action RPG project Hero's Song fell off the radar. Updates were few and far between and it was unclear whether the game would find the funding it needed through other avenues. Today, however, the game returned with an IndieGoGo campaign that is asking for $200,000. What's more, the campaign contains an image that states that Early Access will begin on November 7th.

According to the press release, "Pixelmage Games has already raised $2.8M in funding from private investors and is looking to establish the market for Hero’s Song through pre-orders, and support the polishing and balancing of the current features of the game before launch." The money raised during the IndieGoGo campaign will be used for that purpose.

Pixelmage Games CEO John Smedley had the following to say about the announcement.

When we initially announced Hero’s Song, the response was incredible. So much so, that we took the game off of our initial crowdfunding campaign because investors stepped in to ensure that the game would become a reality with proper funding. Now, as we approach the final polish stages for Hero’s Song, we’re opening up the opportunity for interested gamers to get into the game before anyone else. Being a part of our early community will be something we are all talking about for years as our players help shape the community and the game for others.

The IndieGoGo campaign is a Flexible Funding campaign, but, should Pixelmage Games raise $400,000, Ogres, Satyrs, and Trolls will be added as playable races. At $600,000, the Advanced Housing System will be completed sooner.

Those who are interested can obtain the game for a pledge of only $15. Included in the $15 pledge is access to Alpha 3, which will begin in late October.
