Jagex Rolls Back Old School Runescape Due To Issues With Yesterday’s Darkmeyer Update

old school runescape darkmeyer keyart bannerI don’t know whether it’s because of the challenges of working from home during the pandemic or if developers are just getting lazy, but launch day SNAFUs seem to be becoming more and more prevalent these past few months. It’s gotten so bad that even simple content drops don’t work as they should, as in the case of the recent Old School RuneScape Darkmeyer update.

Jagex had to temporarily take the game offline yesterday and force a rollback because of a bug that affected players’ save games. The servers were offline for a few hours during the process but they should now be up and running. The studio is asking players to help iron out the kinks by reporting any issues and bugs they encounter using the “Report” button that can be found in the bottom right of the chatbox.

The Darkmeyer update introduces various vampire-themed content including the new vampire city of Darkmeyer, the Sins of the Father questsline, and the Hallowed Sepulchre instance. You can check out the full update notes on the Old School Runescape official site. You’ll also find the Darkmeyer official update trailer below.
