Last Oasis’ much-hyped Season 5 “LOverhaul” was meant to shift the nomadic survival MMORPG’s gameplay away from hardcore PvP to PvE. Now that the changes are live, it looks like the game’s developers might have another change of heart.

A new dev blog on the Last Oasis Steam page reveals ongoing discussions on the game’s Discord about whether the recently added PvE tiles were really necessary. Although, Donkey Crew seems to be content to see how things go for the time being.

“We want to first see how the new map performs with both PvP and PvE and will make a decision whether to keep PvE tiles once Base and Walker Packing is out to allow anyone who settled on tiles that might be burnt to easily move their belongings to another tile,” the studio said. “That doesn’t mean that we made a decision yet, though. The process of observing the gameplay on both types of the tiles is still ongoing and we’ll announce the final decision only after the Packing feature is out.”

The blog further discusses plans to continue updating and improving the Sleeping Giants map based on player feedback and the creation of new PvP-focused content, which includes the addition of PvP tiles designed to play an important part in the game. Donkey Crew plans to also work on the game’s third map alongside the said PvP content.

Meanwhile, the studio has rolled out a small set of fixes to several known issues and a few balance tweaks.
