Lord Of The Rings Online Starts ‘Banishing’ Players From Angmar And Mordor Nazgul Fight

Don’t be surprised if you suddenly find yourself unceremoniously banished from the Nazgul fight in Lord of the Rings Online’s new legendary servers. It’s all part of Standing Stone Games’ efforts to keep both the Angmar and Mordor progression servers from blowing up when too many players show up for the fight.

“Unsurprisingly, when a Nazgul appears during peak hours, it tends to get pretty mobbed and while our new servers are performing very well, 300+ players in a small area will still tend to stress them out,” the studio explains. “Once the player count in its immediate vicinity exceeds ~50 players, the Nazgul will begin banishing nearby players, this is mainly to help maintain performance, as well as keeping the fight challenging.”

The good news is that you won’t be walking away empty handed even if you’re pulled from the fight. The Ringwraith will only banish players who’ve been marked, this usually occur within a minute of joining the fight. Once you’ve been marked, you’re guaranteed a share of the spoils regardless of whether you were banished or not.
