The Lord of the Rings Online: The Black Gate Is Now Open, Mordor Is Officially Live

The Lord of the Rings Online: Mordor is now live! The expansion, a.k.a. Update 21, was initially scheduled to come out on Monday but had to be delayed because of technical issues. But hey, the expansion is out now and players can traipse through the iconic Black Gate and straight into Mordor.

As we revealed in a post earlier today, Update 21 increases the level cap to 115 and features five new zones, a new allegiance system, item and crafting updates, as well as new quests, deeds, NPCs, and mobs.

The expansion is available on the Turbine Store and is priced at $39.99 for the Standard Edition all the way up to $129.99 for the Ultimate Fan Bundle. Players who purchase a Collector’s Edition or an Ultimate Fan Bundle, however, will also have access to the new High Elf race, along with other exclusive items and rewards.
