This week’s Lord of the Rings Online update, dubbed The Further Adventures of Elladan and Elrohir, introduces new story content that revolves around the Half-Elven twins as they journey from Rivendell to Lothlórien to complete a secret errand from their father and the Lord of Rivendell, Elrond.

Another key feature of the update are the promised changes to the Ettenmoors Player vs. Monster Player game mode. All Monster Player characters have now been unlocked and players can now create any of the characters for free upon completing the new player experience or getting a Free Peoples character to at least level 2. The starting skills of Monster Players have also been buffed to give them a fighting chance against the Free Peoples. Their rank requirements have also been reduced, making it possible to have a fully-kitted out Monster Player at Rank 5.

Free Peoples have also been updated and will now be able to join the battle at Ettenmoors at level 20. Their levels will also automatically scale to 129 to keep all PvMP participants in, more or less, equal footing. New quests have also been added to introduce new players to the newly-revamped game mode.

The update also kicks off the newly-update Treasure Bugan event. The Treasure Bugan now has a 75% chance to spawn in normal zones and a guaranteed chance to spawn in specific instances. Rewards for the event quests have also been updated, the details of which can be found in the official Update 33.1 release notes.
