MapleStory Will Be Opening A New NA Classic Reboot Server Later This Year

Nexon will be giving MapleStory fans another chance to experience the classic 2D side-scrolling MMORPG as it was 19 years ago with a new reboot server for North American players.

“[…] We are excited to reveal that we will be opening a new world in the North America region offering the same Reboot gameplay experience,” Nexon announced. “With the anticipation and excitement of the New Age update arriving soon, we felt that this is a great time to introduce a new world especially for those returning to the game or just starting out. The new world will be named Reboot Hyperion, and we hope that it will give new and existing players an opportunity to start fresh on an even playing field!”

To pave the way for the opening of the new reboot server, Nexon will be renaming the existing North American and European servers as Kronos and Solis, respectively. The developers are also planning to update the login and world selection screen to make it easier for players to distinguish servers from each other by grouping them together based on their respective gameplay rules.

“The world selection screen will be updated to categorize and build separation between distinct gameplay experiences and the list of worlds will be reorganized so that each world will fall under their respective gameplay categories,” Nexon explained.
