MapleStory Introduces New Bow Class – Kain, The Darkness Chaser
Most MMORPG tropes depict assassins as quick-footed, shuriken-throwing, dual blade-wielding ninjas. Stealthy crossbow users, however, rarely get the attention they deserve… until now. MapleStory welcomes Kain, the Darkness Chaser, a dark and brooding bowman with anger management issues to the side-scrolling fantasy MMORPG. Completing Kain’s badass assassin look is an all-black ensemble complete with black trench coat and, in line with COVID-19 protocols, a black face mask.
“Kain is a mighty bowman with a terrifyingly lethal power, manifesting from the Malice gems distributed to all of the Drakas that dominate Toolen City. Armed with his rage and the deadly Whispershot hand-crossbow, his search for his past and his desire to break free of his servitude will lead him to unleash his power upon all of Maple World.”
Kain’s hand-crossbow allows him to be deal damage at short to medium range. He can quickly dart through the battlefield using Shadow Step, use a special set of Possession Skills, and promptly execute his enemies with Death’s Blessing.
The new class is now live with the release of Patch v.223, dubbed Neo: Darkness Ascending, along with a new level-up event that will reward players with a chest full of in-game goodies upon reaching certain leveling milestones using the new Kain class. The level-up event runs until July 20.
