MapleStory Will Be Switching To A 64-Bit Client Alongside Update V.231

MapleStory will be making the switch from 32-bit to a 64-bit client next month as part of Nexon’s efforts to improve the classic MMORPG’s performance and support the game well into the future. The team will be making the switch alongside the release of v.231 on March 16th.
“MapleStory on 32-bit was limited in its memory to ~2 GB in usage, depending on the needs of the operating system. With the change to 64-bit, it will allow the MapleStory client to use more memory and improve client performance in various memory-intensive situations. While the 64-bit client will improve some client performance issues, please keep in mind that it will not resolve every issue you may have encountered previously.”
Transitioning to a 64-bit client means that the game will no longer run on 32-bit operating systems so make sure to upgrade a 64-bit OS before the update rolls out. Players can also expect a slight increase to the minimum and recommended system requirements following the switch.
