MapleStory's Massive Name Change Event Begins Thursday

This Thursday, October 15th, Nexon will be holding a massive Character Name Change Event for the first time. During maintenance on Thursday, "millions of character names from inactive accounts" will be freed up for current players to use. The character names being freed up are all names in use by characters that are under level 200 and have not logged in since January 1, 2013.

Once maintenance is complete, players can log in to the game, click the event notifier, and accept the "A Chance to Change Your Name" quest, pictured above. This will award the player with one Character Name Change Coupon. This offer is only valid for one character per world and the coupon will expire on October 21st at 11:59 PST.
