Medieval Fighting Game Mordhau Funded In Under 24 Hours

Mordhau is a brutal medieval fighting game on Kickstarter that's been funded in less than 24 hours, and now sits at almost double its original goal. It's easy to see why. At a glance the features a complex combat system set in small duels all the way up to 64 player skirmishes on maps with trebuchets, horses, and ramparts to storm.

The development team was clearly motivated by other medieval melee fighters such as to Chivalry, including bloody fights where player characters are ripped apart limb-by-limb. One note I found particularly interesting, is the project lead specifically said they want to avoid a combat system where players spin around each other. Thank you.

The game's development has been well underway, which may help explain why the Kickstarter has been so successful.

The Kickstarter video below is well worth watching if you have any interest. Mordhau is one to keep an eye on if you like these types of games, just make sure to duck. As of right now, it's expected to fully release in March 2018, though backers will have access to Alpha and Beta depending on the tier they buy into.

Mordhau will be on Steam when it releases. You can learn more about the game by heading to its official site.
