Last month, a group of private gamers filed a lawsuit against Microsoft to block its acquisition of Activision Blizzard under Section 7 of the Clayton Antitrust Act of 1914. This is around the same time that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission filed their own antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft.

Microsoft, however, has requested that the judge delay the gamer group’s lawsuit so that they can focus on the bigger of the two lawsuits. Unfortunately for Microsoft, the judge dsimissed the request and scheduled a preliminary injunction on Thursday, March 23rd.

As for the merger, Microsoft now has only six months to finalize the deal before it expires and will be required to draft a new one. But with multiple government agencies and even private individuals breathing down its neck, it’s going to be tough going for both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
