Aside from the occasional teaser, Capcom has been pretty quiet about Monster Hunter Rise’s first expansion - Sunbreak. But, it looks like the dev team is gearing up for a major reveal in spring next year based on their latest tweet.

The “monstrous” expansion was first announced in September this year and was showcased at The Game Awards 2021 earlier this month with the release of a new trailer. The trailer gave fans a quick preview of the new Elgado Outpost zone along with a new crystal-like nocturnal monster called Lunagaron.

The expansion is expected to launch simultaneously on Nintendo Switch and PC sometime in the summer of 2022. The game itself will be launching on PC on January 22, 2022 with Switch post-launch content and DLCs included. Unfortunately, cross-play and cross-save will not be available between the PC and the Nintendo Switch versions of the monster-slaying MMORPG.
