Motiga Lays Off 15 Employees Ahead Of Gigantic's Upcoming Arc Launch

Motiga's had a rough go of it in the past. Last February, the developer of Gigantic saw "significant layoffs" that could have affected the game's release. Yesterday, Motiga CEO and founder Chris Chung confirmed to Destructoid that another round of layoffs, totaling "15 of the studio's 82 employees" were laid off.

The following quote was provided.

Any kind of layoff is tough, but this was done to reduce our burn rate until we get to Arc launch which will happen in a few months.

According to Destructoid, Chung also stated that the majority of those laid off were part of "the business and operations side of things." This round of layoffs is not expected to affect the Arc launch, which is expected to happen in Q2 2017.
