n-Space Address The State Of Sword Coast Legends

After a rocky launch, Dan Tudge, the President of n-Space, addressed the state of Sword Coast Legends today in a Steam Community update. The update starts out by acknowledging that, while the game is something that the small development team at n-Space are proud of and the Dungeons and Dragons team has been there every step of the way, not all players are happy. The game's launch reception was polarizing. Tudge summed up how the team is handling this in three words: "We hear you."

He goes on to say that "this is really just step one, a foundation for an even greater experience we have always intended to improve and expand." As such, several DLC packs are planned and all will be provided to owners of the game entirely for free. First up is the Halloween update, going under the pun name The Pumpkin Patch. Launching today, this patch will allow camera movement by nudging the edges of the screen and auto-healing when entering the Adventurer's Camp. A new area, new gear and 35 new placeable objects, all Halloween-themed, will also be added to the game.

During the week of November 9th, the first Community Pack will launch, followed by two more during the week of November 30th and in December, respectively. The Rage of Demons DLC will come sometime after that and will also be provided free of charge.

He ends the address by saying that the team is grateful for the support they've received and that they are listening. He also shares that over 82 years of playtime have been logged in the time that the game has been made available. Despite the polarized reviews, it seems that players that like it are playing it quite a lot!

If you bought Sword Coast Legends, how do you feel about this address?
