NCSoft Q3 2020 Revenues Up, Guild Wars 2 Records Highest Revenue Since 2018
NCSoft has just released their Q3 2020 financial report which saw a 16% increase in PC online games sales thanks to strong performance by Guild Wars 2 and Lineage. Guild Wars 2 also saw an increase in revenue for the third fiscal quarter of 2020, their best since Q3 2018. The Korean gaming company’s revenue also increased by 47% year-over-year and 9% quarter-over-quarter, totaling KRW 585.2 billion or roughly USD 528.3 million.
According to NCSoft, the revenue increase is due to the Lineage 2 M’s successful launch as well as the steady growth of Lineage M and PC online games. They also defended the delayed release of new games during the investor call, including Blade and Soul 2, Aion 2, and Project TL which has been stuck in testing limbo since 2015. The studio says that the most recent testing for Project TL was encouraging.
