NCSoft Reports Q1 2018 Earnings, Aion Revenue Up, GW2 and B&S Down

South Korean gaming giant NCSoft reported their Q1 2018 earnings today with total revenue coming in at 475,159M KRW ($444M USD), down 11% quarter over quarter and up 98% year over year. As with their previous earnings reports, take a look at sales by game:

Despite a slight dip from last quarter, mobile games continued to dominate, bringing in over half of the company's total revenues. Every other game saw a slight dip as well with the exception of Aion which saw a big jump which NCSoft attributed to a "change in monetization scheme" (sounds like they upped the p2w).

In their investor call with analysts, NCSoft acknowledged that Blade and Soul 2 for mobile was delayed into 2019 after failing to meet expectations. The entire game will be getting redesigned and will be developed by an entirely new team (basically same deal as Lineage Eternal). Project TL on the other hand seems to be on track for a release sometime next year.

South Korea remains the #1 region for NCSoft with over 70% of revenues coming from the region.
