NCSoft Reveals In-House Mobile Emulator Called Purple Ahead Of Lineage 2M Launch

ncosft purple logo bannerOver the past few years, mobile gaming has steadily gained popularity as more and more AAA developers started releasing and porting games over to mobile devices. For those who’d rather play mobile games on their PCs, emulators like BlueStacks and Nox have been the popular choice. Apparently, NCSoft wants a piece of the pie and have developed their own in-house emulator called Purple specifically for use with Lineage 2M.

Purple features custom keybindings, a dedicated chat and voice chat system, multiple account support, and live-streaming. Currently, Lineage 2M is currently the only game supported by Purple but we can probably expect future mobile games from the studio to be compatible with NCSoft’s new emulator. According to MMOCulture, the software will initially available in South Korea and will be available for download starting November 25th a few days before the official launch of Lineage 2M. The emulator will also be launching globally sometime in the future.

Why Purple? The name represents the inter-connection of PC and mobile devices much like Red and Blue make Purple. Technically, its Magenta but that’s beside the point. Check out the video below for an overview of Purple.
