After being delayed for a week, Neverwinter players can finally return to the forested lands of the Fey with the launch of The Iron Tooth, Episode 1 of the three-part Sharandar expansion. The expansion is now live on PC, opening the gates to the new Sharandar social hub, the Ruins of Malabog adventure zone, and two new endgame instances: Annis Hag Lair and Vault of the Stars.

“Neverwinter’s newest module has players return to Sharandar to end the unsettling darkness creeping across the Feywild and the area’s age-old elven stronghold. The Iron Tooth, introduces new and returning players to the Feywild lands of Sharandar, where they must head to the Ruins of Malabog to investigate the disappearance of an elven dignitary. With loutish creatures that will kill any foolish enough to enter the ruins, players will need to join forces to successfully be Protectors of the Feywild and rise against the darkness.”

Lead designer Randy Mosiondz notes that Sharandar will be different from the one introduced in 2013 with the game’s first expansion, Fury of the Feywild. “Our team has fully rebuilt the area from the ground up, including never before seen adventure zones and a brand-new social hub,” Mosiondz told PCGamer.

The mystical elven forests will also be changing over the coming months with the release of Episode 2 and Episode 3 of the expansion. “Another thing we've started doing is evolving our existing game worlds. We did that with the Rage of Bel and Redeemed Citadel updates for Avernus, and we're doing that more with our upcoming episodic content for Sharandar,” said Mosiondz. “We want to advance the story and evolve the world alongside that narrative in a natural way.”

The Iron Tooth will be arriving on consoles on March 16. Episode 2: The Soul Keeper is scheduled to launch in April on PC and May on consoles. Episode 3: The Odious Court will follow later this year.
