New Neverwinter Expansion titled 'Menzoberranzan' Now Available on PC and Consoles

Wizards of the Coast has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for their new Neverwinter expansion, Menzoberranzan, which also just launched today. The 25th module of the free-to-play MMORPG, developed by Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios, is now available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.

Menzoberranzan marks the climax of a two-part storyline and campaign, created in collaboration with New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore and his son, Geno Salvatore. The expansion is inspired by R.A. Salvatore's trilogy series, The Way of the Drow, and allows players to explore the fabled drow city of Menzoberranzan, home of the legendary Drizzt Do'Urden.

The story picks up after the events of the Northdark Reaches module, where a civil war threatens to engulf Menzoberranzan due to rumors of a powerful, long-lost artifact. Players must join the ex-drider forces of the Blaspheme to prevent chaos from taking over the Underdark and save Menzoberranzan from destruction.

The expansion introduces a wealth of content and updates, including a new adventure and campaign penned by R.A. and Geno Salvatore. The Menzoberranzan Adventure Zone & Campaign allows players to engage with iconic Dungeons & Dragons characters like Drizzt and navigate a treacherous drow rebellion. The new zone features epic quests, formidable bosses, and valuable rewards such as Underdark weapons, artifacts, mount insignias, and combat enchantments.

Additionally, the update introduces a new trial, celebrating 10 years of Neverwinter, where players must face the Beholder deity Gzemnid. Quality of life improvements are also part of the module, including balancing updates for companions, new insignia-focused upgrades to the mount system, and fresh rewards for appointment store events.

Menzoberranzan Adventure Zone & Campaign – For the first time ever, explore the drow city of Menzoberranzan, the fabled home of the legendary Dungeons & Dragons character Drizzt Do’Urden. In this new zone, you’ll need to avoid drow patrols and evade assassins as you assist the drow rebellion.

The adventure zone includes the following new features:

• New Quests – Embark on epic quests, encounter beloved Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms characters, including Drizzt Do’Urden and experience the great city of Menzoberranzan.
• New Bosses – While exploring this new zone, expect to encounter both friend and foe in challenging battles, including the deadliest bosses within Menzoberranzan, and take on heroic encounters.
• New Rewards – By successfully completing quests, you can unearth new epic rewards including new Underdark weapons, artifacts, mount insignias and combat enchantments.

New Trial - Drawn to the power of the Eye of Odran, the Beholder deity Gzemnid has taken physical form within his reliquary. Challenge him in a New Trial, a celebration of 10 years of Neverwinter!
