New World Announces The Opening Of Fresh Start Servers In November

Amazon Game Studios is adding much-needed real estate in New World for players who don’t mind starting from scratch. Early last month, the studio teased the possibility of opening up fresh start servers that a lot of players have apparently been requesting for. That possibility is soon becoming a reality just a few weeks after the highly-awaited Brimstone Sands expansion comes out.

“Conquer untouched territory, amass vast wealth, and forge new reputations when Fresh Start Worlds come to Aeternum on November 2,” Amazon announced. “We’ve received a lot of requests for Fresh Start Worlds, so we are using the time between the Brimstone Sands release and the opening of these worlds to ensure you have a high quality, fresh start.”

Amazon also clarified that they won’t be allowing players on existing servers to transfer their progress over to the new fresh start servers. “All coins, loot, and characters must originate in these servers. That means no powerful or rich Adventurers can transfer into any of the new worlds,” the studio said. “A blank canvas complete with a revamped starting experience awaits. What will you claim?”

The timing for the fresh start servers could be better though as opening them before Brimstone Sands release will allow fresh start players to enjoy the expansion alongside everyone else without having to do it all over again in two weeks. But, I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and would rather see Amazon focus their undivided attention on ensuring a smooth release for the expansion, or at least as smooth as they can make it.

Brimstone Sands is scheduled to arrive on October 18th.
