Amazon Game Studios has published another PvP-focused Forged in Aeternum video that offers insight into the future of PvP in New World. In the video, Game Director Scot Lane, Senior Producer, Katy Kaszynski, and Creative Director David Verfaillie sit down to discuss changes coming to PvP in Season 2 and in the near future.

Some of the topics that the trio touched on include measures to address the current burst meta and the subsequent reduction in the time needed to kill a player, which they say is a bit faster than they wanted and will be addressing the issue in a future patch.

The team also talked about player requests for traditional MMORPG raids, which they said would be coming eventually. They also discussed possible to changes to Outpost Rush layouts, upcoming changes to open-world PvP, heartrunes, wards and banes, and weapon perks. Wards and banes apparently turned out to be too complex to be fun and will be removed by the end of the year. Weapon perks, on the other hand, won’t be added at all despite player requests. They also discussed player metrics and their efforts to expand the development team.

On the subject of expansions, the team avoided talking about anything related to the upcoming fall expansion, new weapons included. You can check out the new Forged in Aeternum video below.
