New World Previews Season 2’s New Sandwurm Devourer Heartrune
Get ready for some wormy mayhem in New World as Amazon Game Studios prepares to unleash sandwurms in the PvP MMORPG’s second season. Season 2 will introduce the new Sandwurm Devourer heartrune, which, as you can probably guess, will allow players to summon their very own sandwurm companion to wreak havoc on their enemies.
Summoning a sandwurm will trigger a two-pronged attack. First, there's a knockback pulse as the sandwurm is called forth, creating some distance between the player and their foes. Then, the sandwurm delivers a powerful bite, inflicting significant damage to the target. This combination is specifically designed to make quick work of enemies, even those that can use grit to negate staggering effects as the second attack will take out a fair bit of the enemy’s health.
The team also revealed that sandwurms can be summoned even when on floating platforms, so you can call out your hungry friend whenever its needed.
Season 2: Blood of the Sands is set to kick off on July 6th, bringing with it a host of new content, including the new Sandwurm Trial, a PvP refresh, and the aforementioned heartrune. More information can be found on the New World official site.
