Nexon Reshuffles Leadership at NEOPLE, the Studio Behind Dungeon Fighter Online

Nexon announced today that Myeong-jin Yun, the man leading oversight at Project BBQ and Mobile DFO, will take over the leadership position on Dungeon Fighter Online (alongside his other responsibilities). The goal with the leadership shuffle is to bring forth new ideas to keep the now 16 year old game fresh.

Myeong-jin Yun joined Neople in 2008 to work on the original game in this franchise and was quickly recognized for his vision, leadership and love for the Dungeon&Fighter IP. From 2014 to 2017, Myeong-jin Yun served as a development director on Dungeon&Fighter and developed a reputation for respecting and listening to players. During his tenure, the franchise saw continuous updates that thrilled and engaged players, and new registrations grew by 200% and the game captured record market share in PC cafes in Korea. In 2017, Myeong-jin Yun was appointed as the leader of Neople’s Action Studio, which develops Mobile Dungeon&Fighter and Project BBQ, but has remained close to the original Dungeon&Fighter.

This change comes after Nexon's stock dived ~40% since early may, with much of the decline attributable to weak earnings due to lackluster performance of Dungeon Fighter Online.

Dungeon Fighter Online is the world's most successful MMORPGs with over $15 billion in lifeitme earnings worldwide since its launch in 2005. The vast majority of the game's revenue comes from China, with other regions being a rounding error. The global English version is still live though and is available on Steam.
