No Man’s Sky has just received a huge update called Sentinel that adds a ton of cool new things that should prove useful when exploring the survival MMORPG’s vast sci-fi universe. These include jetpacks, a cloaking device, the new heavily-armored Sentinel battle mech, and an AI autopilot system for Exomechs. Oh, and jetpacks!

“Travellers may now install a Minotaur AI Pilot within their Exomech. This advanced battle computer will allow the Minotaur to follow its master as they explore the planet, and to serve as a powerful ally in combat. [. . .] The Minotaur AI will always cede control to the primary user on cockpit entry.”

The Sentinel update also comes with new content for planetary sentinel pillars, drones and drone weaponry, blueprint hacking, and a new exobiology expedition. This is in addition to other game improvements, including a visual overhaul of the multi-tool system, faster warping, enhanced heavy weapon animations, faster combat, and improved performance thanks to the newly-added AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution support.

The full patch notes can be found on the No Man’s Sky official site. You can also check out the new Sentinel update trailer below for an overview of the update’s contents.
