Old School RuneScape Adds New Questline Next Month Called ‘A Kingdom Divided’
Old School Runescape will be introducing a new questline next month that will be set in the kingdom of Great Kourend, called A Kingdom Divided.
“Since the death of the last king, Great Kourend has been ruled by the Kourend Council. Under the watchful gaze of the Council, Kourend has enjoyed a golden age of progression. But not all of its citizens are happy, and, spurred by the recent arrest of Councillor Sophia Hughes, allegations of corruption are growing.
However, the political games of the Council may be the least of Kourend’s concerns. A darker power is gathering in the Kingdom - one that could change the face of Gielinor forever...”
Players will need to have completed specific quests and reach the minimum required level for certain skills before they can gain access to the new questline. Successfully completing it will grant players with 2 quest points, 10,000 Exp Lamp, new Arceuus Spells, a Kourend Castle respawn point, and 20 Kharedst’s Memoirs charges.
Jagex is also holding two competitions related to the new questline: a login screen design competition and a video challenge asking players to summarize the events leading up to A Kingdom Divided.
“It's up to you to decide what style of video you want to make. Documentary, parody... whatever tells the story best! The most important thing is to have fun, and create an informative and entertaining video,” said the team.
The top four entries in each competition will win Amazon vouchers and free VIP subscriptions. First place will get a £200 Amazon voucher and a 12-month subscription, second place will get £100 voucher and a 6-month subscription, and the third and fourth placers will each get a £50 voucher and a 3-month subscription.
Details can be found on the RuneScape official site. Don't forget to check out the quest teaser trailer below.
