Old School RuneScape Opens Zeah, A Whole New Continent

Old School RuneScape is perhaps not the game you would consider the most likely candidate for a major content update. The older branch of Jagex's ever-popular MMORPG started the year off strong with the opening of the first section of an entirely new continent named Zeah. The first phase of a three-phase launch, this release features "the city of Great Kourend." In Great Kourend, players can choose one of five factions in "an attritive fight for dominance across the metropolis." Their allegiances will earn them reputation that can be used to access new content. Various activities will be available, such as taking out criminals, defending the city from lizard men, tilling soil in a farming mini-game, "[uncovering] the secrets of the necromancy spellbook," smuggling contraband into the city, and even mugging the city's residents.

The rest of the continent will be rolled out over the course of the next 12 months as part of the year's 15th Anniversary celebrations. More festivities will be announced in the near future via Twitter.
