Overwatch faces a rocky Pro scene, teases Doomfist, the potential 25th Character

Overwatch may not be all sunshine and flowers. While Overwatch has surpassed 30 Million registered players, the game's competitive scene hasn't seen much growth. An article from Eurogamer talks about how there were many small-scale LAN tournaments, and online competitions that offered a decent sum of cash for Overwatch teams to test their mettle in a professional setting.

However, since Blizzard announced the Overwatch League at Blizzcon 2016, the professional scene has dwindled. It has been 8 months since that announcement, and so far, there has been no concrete information regarding upcoming tournaments or competitions. A letter from Nate Nanzer talked about how Overwatch Contenders and Overwatch Open Division were launched to quite some success, but there is still no mention of a concrete launch date or pre-season for Overwatch League itself.

In other news, Overwatch has also released a in-universe news report with more information regarding Doomfist. Ever since Overwatch was first announced back in 2014, players have heard about Doomfist, the man who could level a skyscraper with his gauntlet. Now, over two and a half years since that trailer released, it seems that Overwatch's 25th hero, Akande Ogundimu, Doomfist, will be revealed soon.

Edit: Doomfist has been revealed
