Pax Dei testers will finally get to leave the relative safety of their home valleys to explore the untamed wilderness when the social sandbox MMO kicks off its second alpha test next month. Developer Mainframe Industries has been teasing the new wilderness zone for the better part of a month, promising new challenges and powerful threats that are best taken on as a group.

The upcoming alpha build will also revamp gear and consumables, introduce new weapon types and spells, expand the crafting system, and open the doors to the PvP fight club. Fortunately, this particular fight club has no rule about not talking about it so feel free to share the news with your friends and other Pax Dei fans, especially since the playtest will no longer be covered by an NDA.

It’s also shaping up to be a bigger playtest than originally planned, which the developers say is the reason why it took them a while to confirm a start date. “Some of the critical features we wanted to test during the second Alpha ended up being more challenging to implement than expected, thus requiring additional attention before we can share them with a broader audience,” the devs explained. “Meanwhile, other team members have been working on new features and content not initially planned for Alpha 2, prompting us to expand the scope.”

Alpha 2 has now been confirmed for April 23 with guaranteed slots for everyone who participated in the first alpha test. If you missed the first playtest, you can increase your chances of getting an invite to the next one by joining the Pax Dei Discord and linking your game account. Elder members of the Discord channel will also get a significantly higher chance of getting an invite. If you’ve yet to sign-up for the alpha playtests, you can do so here.
